2019 2nd CIIE successfully concluded in Shanghai
From November 5th to 10th, 2019, the second
China International Import Expo (hereinafter referred to as 2nd CIIE) held in
the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), China. Co-hosted by
the Ministry of Commerce of China and the Shanghai Municipal Government. Its
partners include World Trade Organization, United Nations Conference on Trade
and Development and United Nations Industrial Development Organization.
What is covered by 2nd CIIE
The 2nd CIIE consists of three parts: Country Pavilion for Trade and Investment, Enterprise and Business Fair as well as International Trade Forum. The Enterprise and Business Fair focus on the following business sectors: Sci-tech Life; Quality Life; Automobile; Trade in Services; Equipment; Food and Agricultural Products
Medical Equipment & Health Care Products.
How deep influence of the 2nd CIIE
China’s Commerce ministry said on Sunday that deals worth $71.13 billion were agreed at the second China International Import Expo (CIIE), up 23% on last year. The ministry said on its website that 32% of the deals were in manufacturing and 25% from the wholesale and retail industry. The week-long CIIE in Shanghai, which closed on Sunday, is the brainchild of Chinese President Xi Jinping and is aimed at showing the country’s openness to importing foreign goods.
In the keynote speech of the opening ceremony of the 2nd CIIE, President Xi Jinping pointed out that "the Chinese market is so big, everyone is welcome to take a look" and sent a warm invitation to all countries in the world.
